DIY Scratch Art with Jaye Harris, ages 4-9

Scratchboard is a fun, easy art style that utilises a variety of tools to carefully scratch away the top layer of the scratch-board revealing the colourful surface underneath. Scratchboard is a great introduction to the use of contrast and positive and negative space in art.

Students will begin the workshop by creating their own scratchboard surface using oil pastels before composing their artwork and experimenting with different tools to create a completed artwork of their favourite animal.
