Portraiture and Proportions with Keelie Nicholls, ages 9-14

Work on your portraiture and observational skills as you capture a self portrait in oil pastel. Experienced tutor and artist Keelie Nicholls will guide the class through the skills required to accurately represent proportions, size and spacing of features to further your artistic judgement. These skills can be used to inform realistic drawings, or to push the boundaries for simplified caricatures. 

Oil pastel allows a quick application of vibrant and opaque colours, which lends itself to a layering technique, helpful for portraits.
