Join artist Maharlina Gorospe-Lockie for a hands-on approach to abstract acrylics with this two-day weekend course!
The workshop will delve into the exploratory and flexible nature of abstract painting where participants will be presented with a fun and spontaneous way to break in a blank canvas.
Mark making using acrylic paint and other mediums will be demonstrated, followed by the process of building up a painting by responding to previous marks with new marks and experimentation (trial and error). Essential art elements and principles such as color, line, rhythm and balance will be discussed. There is no expectation to complete a work at the end of the workshop; instead, it is hoped that participants will push the limits of their imagination and appreciate the liberating approach of creating an abstract painting.
All materials are provided, including a canvas, stretched and primed, ready to jump in and get creative.
