Artist Showcase | Julie McEnerny

Julie McEnerny is a Cairns-based artist who was born in Sydney in 1959. Through her drawings and paintings, she explores the tropical and exotic flora found in Far North Queensland.

Julie is particularly concerned about climate change and the effect it will have on our world. Based on research by the Australian Tropical Herbarium, and her own research into species and threats to their environment, her new work currently explores the concept of plant ‘intelligence’.

Julie has been included in a number of regional exhibitions, including exhibitions at the Cairns Art Gallery where her works are also represented in the Collection.
