Jill Chism was born in Proserpine, Queensland, in 1953 and she currently lives and works in Oak Beach, Queensland.
Jill works with found and repurposed objects to create site specific sculptures and installations. Her studio-based works incorporate photography, digital art, painting and drawing.
Through her arts practice, Jill probes and explores the visible and invisible in order to ask questions about how we interact with each other, and how we exist with the natural environment. She is passionate about preserving the natural environment and has instigated and developed significant projects that explore our connection with nature.
Jill has exhibited extensively in the region and has received numerous awards and public art commissions in and around Cairns, Queensland.
